Manchmal hilft nur noch die Philosophie oder Poesie um das Irrationale zu erklären. Zumindest ist es mir so ergangen, als ich letzte Woche versuchte in all den Absurditäten und Widersprüchen - welche mir hier in Indien im Sinne von «nationalem Wachstum» und «globaler Wirtschaft» begegnen - einen Sinn zu finden. Meine Gedanken dazu findet ihr in der Einleitung meines Chhattisgarh 2014 Berichts «Rich Lands of Poor People Vol. 2» > hier.
Der Bericht gibt im Weiteren einen Einblick was mit all den Menschen - Ajay, Gangotri et al - in der Zwischenzeit passiert ist. Tatsächlich sind wir zurück am Punkt als wäre am 17.04.2013 nie etwas geschehen... Gewerkschaftsaktivist Lakhan Sahu sitzt seit Januar 2014 unschuldig im Knast. Interessanterweise haben es Ajay und ich ohne Probleme geschafft, die 7 Aktivisten im Gefängnis von Baloda Bazaar zu besuchen! Auch sie leiden unter einer fingierten Anklage der gleichen Ambuja-Holcim Sicherheitsleute, welche im Frühjahr 2013 Ajay angegriffen haben... Dies und noch ganz viel mehr aus Chhattisgarh, Indien im April 2014.

Sometimes there is only philosophy and poetry left in helping us to understand the irrational. At least this is how I felt last week, when I was trying to make sense of all the absurdity and contradictions - that I encounter here in India in view of «national growth» and «globalized economy». The report offers a visual insight on what happened to all the people - Ajay, Gangotri et al - in the meantime. Indeed we are back to square one, as from official sides "nothing ever happened" on that infamous 17/04/2013... Union activist Lakhan Sahu has been sitting innocently in prison since January 2014. Ajay and myself were quite surprised how easily we managed to visit the 7 activists in Baloda-Bazaar prison. All of them have been maliciously accused for crimes they never committed by the same security guards that were responsible for beating Ajay after I had taken a photograph of the factory gates in spring 2013...
